Perfect porridge toppings for winter mornings
On this freezing cold night I’m looking forward to the comforting tradition of porridge bubbling away on the stove top on a winter’s morning. Not much else cuts in on a frosty morning but given there are plenty ahead this season you’ve got to keep the porridge toppers interesting for risk of the good old oats becoming – dare I say it ? – boring!
I personally love a teaspoon of honey, a few rings of chopped dried apple, chopped pecans and a small handful of frozen blueberries – the fresh, cool burst among the warm gooey-ness in your mouth is a surprising delight
But it’s only the fifth day of winter, any other porridge topper suggestions for me?
